Alice Julie
Harrison
August 4, 1954 – February 18, 2026
Alice was born on August 4th, 1954, in Ogden, Utah. Alice was the first beloved child of Randolph Jones and Elizabeth Richard. Alice's young years were spent in the Church of God in Christ in Ogden, Utah. Striving to receive the Holy Ghost. "Save me, Lord, I wanna be saved." She loved God with all her heart from the age of five and continued to do so throughout her high school days at Ogden High School. Alice often spent her summers going to church conventions. Sometimes finding puppy love with young church boys. Young and old would come to Ogden, Utah, for those wonderful gatherings. She would join the church choir, traveling and singing throughout the state.
Alice gained a passion for cooking through her grandmother, Mother Richard. At 5 years old, she stood on a stool baking wonderful peach cobbler, sweet potato pies, and her wonderful banana pudding. Alice would help her grandmother cook those big Sunday Dinners at the church. Together, they would make her famous fried chicken (Holy Bird). She would later stay with her grandparents and her Aunt Nancy. She and her aunt grew up as sisters.
Alice and her two children, Noah Shaunton and David Richard, would follow Aunt Nancy to Seattle in 1972. Alice would go on to obtain her culinary degree from Seattle Central Community College, and later at Seattle Pacific University. She married Larry Taylor in 1974. Larry Taylor II, her third son, was born in 1975. She worked at Child Heaven, Boeing, VA Hospital, Post Office (Seasonal), Group Health, and Seattle Pacific University. She was married to David Lee Folkes in 1982 and gave birth to Jerall Pendergrass Folkes later that same year. She would always say, "I raised my sons to cook, clean around the house, and get good grades in school." Mother Richard told Alice to tell future generations, "Get all the Education out there because it's free."
Alice and Stalin Harrison Jr. were married on July 20, 2002. Together, they attended First AME church and became members. Alice sang in the choir at First AME from the 1980's up until February 2, 2026. Alice and Stalin loved quality time together. They would often attend the Torchlight Parade in Seattle, the Chinatown Parade, and the Bite of Seattle. Alice turned her husband into a cook at home as she started to slow down.
Sadly, on February 18, 2026, at 12:40 PM, she transitioned on to her rightful place in heaven after a long battle with kidney disease. Until the end, she was loved and cared for by her husband.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two brothers, her son Noah Shaunton, and her great-grandchild Royal'Lee. A Devoted mother of 4 Sons, Alice's legacy is carried on through her children, David Richard, Larry Taylor II (wife Tamika), and Jerall Pendergrass Folkes. Grandchildren Jonnae McCants, Larry Taylor III, La'Maya Taylor (husband Iren Howard). Demetre Taylor, Giovanni Taylor, and a host of great-grandchildren.
