Alvin Wayne
Brundage Jr.
November 4, 1943 – April 14, 2026
Meridian Grange
1:00 - 4:00 pm (Pacific time)
Alvin Wayne Brundage Jr (Al) age 82 passed away on April 14th, 2026. Al was born on November 4th, 1943 to Alvin Wayne Sr and Josephine Brundage. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 50 years, Nadine, his brothers Carl and Ernest, and his sister Golden. He is survived by his brother James, his sisters Mildred and Madelyn, his children Jerline Thomas and husband Chris, Lori Lee and husband Jeff, Darrell Brundage, and Charles Brundage, and his grandchildren Taryn Kern and husband Kyle, Tiana Quimby and husband Jon, Jordan Lee, Kameran Brundage, Jeric Brundage, and many nieces and nephews. Al was born in Seattle, Washington. His family moved to Kansas City in 1945 and later in 1954 moved back to Washington and settled in Maple Valley where he grew up with his 6 siblings. He joined the navy in 1961. While on leave in 1963 he met his first wife and moved to Ponca City, Oklahoma. Still living in Ponca City after his first marriage he met the love of his life, Nadine. Al and Nadine married on February 17th, 1972. In November of 1972, he brought his beautiful new bride home to Washington and started work at Boeing where he worked as a blue streak mechanic until his retirement in 2001.
Al loved fishing, camping, and woodworking. At Christmas he liked to make little wooden cars that he would donate to toy drives. What he loved most was music! Music was his passion and he loved all kinds of music, but 50's was his favorite. Nobody was willing to challenge him in music trivia because they were sure to lose! He always had music in his mind and heart and was known to spontaneously burst into song anytime or anywhere!
He had a huge record collection and enjoyed playing them on his jukebox and telling anyone who would listen all about the musical artists he loved! He was a huge Buddy Holly fan and even met Buddy’s parents! He and Nadine knocked on their door and were welcomed in and spent time telling his parents how much their son's music meant to them. More than anything that man LOVED to dance! He loved to support local bands and got to know them all. He would go see them every chance he got and dance the night away with numerous friends. He was always the life of the party! Al never met a stranger and would strike up a conversation with anyone around him. Nadine, who was a little more reserved and shy, would just giggle and say, "Uh oh, there he goes again!" Al will be remembered by his friends and family as a kind and generous man who loved to dance and was always there for us.
We will never forget that cheesy grin he would give when he would greet us. You know the one!
"Sometimes we'll sigh, sometimes we'll cry. And we'll know why just you and I know true love ways." BUDDY HOLLY
