Alvin Charles Malarcher

Alvin Charles Malarcher was born June 17, 1948, and died peacefully with family on July 22, 2017 after a short illness.

Alvin, the son of Roy Malarcher and Margarette Barnes, was born in New Orleans and raised in Convent, Louisiana. Alvin enlisted in the US Air Force and served from 1975 to 1979 as an Airman. He was a former USPS employee for 29 years at the BMC in Federal Way.

He is survived by the love of his life and wife of 40 years, Laura, daughter, Tabitha Corley, sons, Darian and Dana Malarcher, and 4 granddaughters, Lauryn, Kairi, Sophia, and Stella Malarcher. Alvin was a wonderful husband, devout Christian, former 30+ year member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, and a most recent member of New Salem Baptist Church. He was a great brother, father, grandfather, service member, teammate, friend, and coach to many in the community and will be greatly missed.

Memorial services for Alvin will be held Thursday, August 3, 12:00 pm, at New Salem Baptist Church in Tacoma, WA. Services by House of Scott Funeral Home.
