IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Candance Shavon Marie
Lewis
July 12, 1987 – January 26, 2026
Candance Shavon Marie Lewis, 38, passed away on January 26, 2026, in Puyallup, Washington. Born on July 12, 1987, in Tacoma, Washington, Candance brought warmth and light into the world from the very beginning, and she carried that light with her throughout her life. Candance was known for her radiant smile that could light up any room. Her presence was magnetic—passionate, loving, and deeply caring. She had a remarkable ability to put the needs of others before her own, offering comfort and support with unwavering compassion. Whether through a listening ear, a heartfelt laugh, or a simple act of kindness, Candance made people feel seen, valued, and loved. Those who knew her were touched by her humor, generosity, and gentle spirit; she was truly an amazing person to know and love. From a young girl her family was the center of her world, both immediate and extended, and she cherished every moment spent creating memories with them. Candance also shared a special bond with her siblings, from bribing Dominique to sing at the school talent show and tricking Marcus to participate by singing the only song he knew how to play on the piano, too quoting entire scenes from their favorite movies, it was non-stop laugher at 612 So. Grant. Her love for her family was constant and unconditional. Above all, Candance greatest joy was her Tea-hyo, Eiryuss, and Xs'Urell. Candance will be remembered for her strength, resilience, and the way she uplifted others even during difficult times. She had a gift for finding joy in everyday moments and encouraging those around her to do the same. Her legacy is one of love, compassion, and authenticity—a reminder to live fully and care deeply for one another. Candance was proceeded in death by her great-granther Ollie Lacy, grandparents Charles and Judy Tobias, Irene Love, and father Burgess Lewis. Candance leaves to cherish her memory, her mother Elisia Young; three sons; Tea-hyo, Eiryuss, and Xs’Urell; two brothers Marcus (Tramica) Young, and Dominique Lewis; sister Tialynja (Lisa) Lewis; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and a circle of extended family members and dear friends who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts. Candance’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. Though her time with us was far too short, the love she gave and the lives she touched will endure. May her legacy of love and laughter continue to bring comfort and strength to those she leaves behind.
