Obituary
Donald Ray Thompson, also known as "Tee" to his family and friends, was born on May 17, 1954 to the late Vaudry and Misher Thompson of Concord, North Carolina. Donald passed away on September 19, 2021 at the age of 67 years old. His battle with serious medical issues has shown his courage in facing life challenges and he stayed strong until the end. Even though a failing heart took him away from this world, his memories live within each and every one of us. He was a graduate of John Bartram High School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania's class of 1972. After graduation, he enlisted in the military where he served in the army. Donald walked in boldness in everything he did. And the simplest of pleasures brought him great joy. He was entertaining whether he was watching a movie, sports game, or playing dominoes with you. And he always needed to give a reminder that he "gives out lessons on Mondays and Wednesdays." His smile and hearty laugh was always contagious. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Lenora Thompson, his four brothers Moses Cherry, Ellis W. Thompson, Alphonso Thompson, and Vaudry Thompson, Jr. and a sister Ernestine Thompson. leaves to cherish in memories his children: a son, Nathan L. (Crystal) Thompson, Puyallup, Washington, and a daughter, Courtney S. (La'Darius) Quinn, Gibsonville, North Carolina; two adorable grandchildren Lennix L. Quinn and Cambria L. Thompson; two brothers Nathaniel Thompson of Kannapolis, North Carolina, Dennis (Donna) Thompson of Chattanooga, Tennessee; three sisters Irene Shockley of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Cherry Price of San Francisco, California, and DeClaudia Thompson of Charlotte, North Carolina; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
