IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Douglas
Lee
February 17, 1939 – December 20, 2025
Born February 17, 1939, in Long Beach, California, to Earl Lee and Nona Lucas, Douglas Lee lived a life full of humor, adventure, and compassion. He passed away peacefully at home in Puyallup, Washington, on December 20, 2025, with his daughter by his side.
Doug proudly served in the United States Marine Corps, embodying strength and dedication throughout his life. He was known for his sharp wit and sense of humor, always ready with a joke or a clever remark. Stubborn as an ox—a trait he proudly passed on to his daughters—he approached life with determination and a love for new experiences. He enjoyed traveling, seeking out adventures, and was a true movie buff. Wrestling nights were a favorite pastime, often followed by lively conversations about the matches with his daughter.
In his younger years, Doug worked with exotic animals and tropical fish, even cleaning tanks and ponds for Hollywood stars. Later, he transitioned into the food industry, ensuring quality snacks at Oberto’s. His compassion extended beyond people to animals; while living in Arkansas, he volunteered with the Humane Association, investigating cruelty cases and playing a key role in banning dog fighting in the state—a legacy of kindness and courage.
Doug is survived by his daughters, Tyra and Carie; his sister, Bonita; grandchildren Alexandra (Alex) and Chris (Chrysanthi); great-grandchildren Theron, Thalia, Zoey, Xandra, Vangelis, and Alexandros; cousin Pam; niece Lisa (Jay); and nephew Bobby. And honorary daughter Rena, honorary grandchildren Angelina and Alexus. He will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him.
