Edward
Harris
January 18, 2024
Obituary Edward Lee Harris was born January 12, 1967, in Los Angeles, CA to parents Eddie Lee Harris Sr., and Catherine Richardson. He was the third of five siblings. At a young age, Edward and his family relocated to Phoenix, AZ where he attended Shaw Elementary, Herrara Jr. High, and Central High. As a teen, Edwards's love of dance helped him earn a reputation for being among the best and most sought-after pop lockers in the Phoenix metro area. After winning one dance contest after another, the largest being the annual Eastlake Park Talent Showcase, Edward was invited to perform at the Arizona State Fair in front of a crowd of over thirty thousand people. Edward's dance moves had the crowd on their feet and opened the door for many more performance opportunities. In 1984, Edward became a father for the first time after the birth of his daughter, Tacarra Mahogany Harris, and by 1986, he'd decided it was time for a change. Edward moved his young family to the State of Washington where he quickly started a new career as a production technician at the world-famous Almond Roca Plant in Tacoma. Edward's family continued to grow and in 2006 he welcomed twin sons, Edward Lee Dayton-Harris and Jonathan Dayton-Harris followed by daughter Kathy Michelle Dayton-Harris in 2007. In 2017, Edward married the love of his life, Janel Hove. The couple remained married until Edward's untimely passing on January 18, 2024. Edward was preceded in death by his father, Eddie Lee Harris Sr., sister, Cathy Richardson, maternal and paternal grandparents, and many other close family members. Edward is survived by his children; Tacarra, Edward, Jonathan, and Kathy; his mother, Catherine Richardson, with whom he shared an extraordinary bond. Siblings; George Washington, Sr. (Los Angeles, CA), Thessalonia Harris-Lawton (Tacoma, WA), Christa Harris-George (Tacoma, WA), and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Edward was a beloved son, father, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend. His presence is deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. May his soul rest in eternal peace. Amen…
