GEORGENE TERRY

Georgene Terry was born in St Louis, MO. to Otis and Geneva (Barr) Garrett. She moved to the state of Washington in 1956. She spent her childhood in East St Louis, where she went to school and graduated from East Side High School in 1954. She was a hard worker and found employment in Ft Lewis, WA at the Quartermaster Laundry for over 15 years before managing Tacoma Congregated Care Home (Adult home for mentally disabled) where she retired.

She peacefully transitioned into the arms of Jesus under the medical care of St Joseph Hospital on April 22, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jesse R Terry. Georgene (Jean) had an enduring spirit of love and grace. Her absence will be sorely missed yet her memory remains a source of comfort and inspiration to all who were privileged to know her. Her legacy of love, kindness and strength will illuminate our lives, reminding us to cherish each moment and embrace the bonds of family and friendship that she held so dearly.

Viewing will be Friday May 3, 2024, from 2pm-6pm at Scott Funeral Home.
