Obituary

Lynn Calvin Murdock was born in Driggs, Idaho on July 8, 1955 to Bernell & Elda Murdock. He has four siblings: Charlotte (Mike), Christine (Ron), Wayne (Ranae) and Beth (Rob). Lynn grew up in Rigby, ID where he met his sweetheart, Aleathea Jarvis, as a senior in high school. He served a two year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Brussels, Belgium.

Lynn went to Ricks College (now BYU-Idaho) where he got his associate degree in electronic engineering. Then he went on to get his bachelor and masters degrees in international business management from Laurelhurst University. Lynn & Aleathea got married on April 29, 1977 before moving to Beaverton, Oregon where Lynn started his career in international sales marketing for 20+ years at Tektronix. Lynn traveled to over 40 countries around the world during his career and loved sharing of all the different cultures and people he came across.

Lynn & Aleathea raised their four children in Newberg, Oregon and were a large part of their church and community.  Lynn's sense of humor and bellowing laugh lit up every room he entered. His ability to stop and smell the roses and appreciate all the blessings of life was a lesson he passed on to his children.

Lynn was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in March 2023. Upon receiving his diagnoses, he did not ask "Why me?" he simply asked, "Why not me?" He was always bearing his testimony of his love of the Savior, Jesus Christ and knew that if he was given this trial, he would carry it to the best of his ability. Lynn passed away peacefully in his home on June 22, 2023 with his beautiful wife by his side.

Lynn was survived by his wife, Aleathea Murdock, his four children: Ben (Sara), Barbara (Jared), Scott (Aly) and Blake (Cortney) and 13 grandchildren. Lynn was proceeded in death by his parents, Bernell & Elda Murdock and his niece, Megan Murdock.
