Obituary

Pearl Jean Shepherd, a mother, grandmother, sister and friend entered her eternal rest on Friday July 23, 2021. She was born in Dallas, Texas on September 19, 1957 to Henry Billops and Quiency Greene. She married her high school sweetheart, Henry (Hank) Shepherd and they later moved to Bremerton, Washington. This union created five children; daughter; Jewel Lonuette Latreece Shepherd-Sampson (Darius Sampson), sons; Joshua Caleb Shepherd, Daniel Jacob Shepherd, Isaiah Lawrence Shepherd, and Jonathan Henry Shepherd.

Sister Shepherd "as she was affectionately known" became a member of Emmanuel Apostolic Church 40 years ago. Both her and her husband served at Emmanuel with a loyalty that is hard to find. An active community member, women's advocate and prayer warrior are just a few of the titles Sister Shepherd wore proudly. She was instrumental in bringing many souls to Christ. She proudly served as part of the call back team to welcome new people to Emmanuel and was well known for doing whatever it took to make newbies feel welcome. Whether it be babysitting, hosting dinner, providing transportation to and from church or witnessing to souls over the phone. Sister Shepherd did it all and she did it with grace and humility. Sister Pearl Shepherd's legacy lives on through her five children, two grandchildren, nine siblings, and a host of extended family and friends. She is survived by her husband; Henry Wadsworth Longfellow Shepherd II of 45 years. She is preceded in death by both her mother and father. While Sister Shepherd is no longer with us on earth, we find peace and joy knowing that she is not suffering anymore and one day we shall reunite again. Until then we cherish all the memories, love and honor she showed during her 63 years of life. Pearly Gate you will be missed!
