We are saddened to announce the passing of (Eleanor) Ross Ayers Wood on November 16, 2023 at the age of 92.

She lived a rich and full life that touched many people. She made Friends every where she went.

Ross was a beautiful and strong lady, who always had a smile on her face and a kind word for everyone. She was a loving mother of two sons, John Myers Wood Jr.(Teresa) and Henry Skinner Wood (Lauri). She was blessed to have four grandchildren, Renee' (Jeff Prehm), Justin (Wendy), John Myers Wood III (Melissa), Rebecca (Jeffrey Nighswonger).They gave her 16 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild. She was very involved with all of us.

Ross was always there when we needed her, offering her support, advice, and comfort. She was a great person to have in your corner, because she would always stand up for what was right and fight for what she believed in.

She had many passions and interests in life. She loved to cook, to travel, to read, to shop and to garden. She had a flare for fashion and decor'. Her favorite thing to do was spend time with family and friends sharing her incredible stories.

Ross will be forever missed.

We will be gathering to say our Goodbye's at Scott's Funeral Home in Tacoma Sunday November 19, 2023 from 11 o'clock to 3 o'clock.

She will be laid to rest next to her loving husband John Myers Wood, and family at Grace Episcopal Church in her home town of Plymouth, NC.
