On Sunday, March 27, 2022 Ruth Marjorie Child, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister passed away at the age of 83.

Ruth was born on September 10, 1938 in Helena, Montana to Marjorie and George Bourne. For as long as she was able and as often as possible she returned to the ranch where she was born. She was raised in Parkland, WA and went to Franklin Pierce HS (class of 1956). She married Jack Child on June 1, 1957. While traveling and living in Alaska and Nevada they had 3 daughters, Victoria, Kathleen and Neva.

Ruth went to work for Prudential Insurance in 1968. She was with Prudential until her retirement in 1995. She was a valued member of the team and during her time there advanced from secretary to office manager.  Ruth was very proud of her time working and developed many friendships there. In retirement Ruth loved spending time with her family and was able to travel with them from Cannon Beach to Mexico and on cruises to the Caribbean and Alaska. She really enjoyed Beanie Babies and had an enviable collection! She also loved and proudly displayed her "Holiday Barbie" dolls. In her younger years she enjoyed sewing and was a talented seamstress, regularly making clothes for her 3 daughters and herself. Ruth was an accomplished gardener and took great pride in her flowers, she especially loved daffodils.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Kathleen Baldwin (Rick), grandson Casey Stevenson and brother Robert Bourne. She is survived by daughters Victoria Beyer (Joe) and Neva Topolski (Brian), 7 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, siblings Betty Cortner (Del), Jean Bilyeu (Tom), Ray Bourne (Twyla), Charlotte Green and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
