Obituary

son of the late Waverly and Alicia Johnson, Sr. Waverly was born on December 6, 1955 in Brooklyn, NY. He departed this life on Friday, February 5, 2021.

After earning his G.E.D, Waverly joined the Marine Corps in 1974. Upon his departure from the military, he then worked as a Chef at several establishments.

Mr. Johnson participated regularly with the Food Bank and volunteered in the Community.  He loved music, dancing, and traveling. He loved the game of football and his favorite team was the Dallas Cowboys.  Family was an important ingredient in his life. He was one that had a loving and caring spirit for his family and interacting with people. He was often referred to by his family as "Dice and Pops".In addition to his parents, Waverly Johnson was preceded in death by his brother Brooke Johnson, his sisters Lauren Parker and Vera Sellers.

He leaves to cherish his memories: Three sons; Waverly Winston and Maurice Evans both of Chester, PA, Damien Winston, Sr,(Nikita) of Newark, DE, One Daughter; Sharim Priest (Vashon) of Claymont, DE. Three Grandchildren; Jeremiah Priest, Phoenix Priest and Damien (DJ) Winston, Jr. Brothers; Mark and Michael both of Tacoma, WA.  Sister; Daphne Crawford (Marc) of Bronx, NY.  Special Friend Elisia Young, of Tacoma, WA and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
